I had the pleasure of attending the workshop event with Sue Bryce held at the Canon Learning Facility in Costa Mesa, CA this past week. I can’t begin to tell you how great it was! She went over in detail and repeated multiple times her method of posing in such a way that it cleared up for me many questions and issues that I have been struggling with. And that was just in the first hour of the first day!
On the second day, when I asked a question about hands, Sue handed me her camera and posed for me to demonstrate the answer to my question as I shot her in the lighting setup she had brought! My friend Liz, was asked to come up and Sue shot her.
It was such an intimate and casual setting, limited to only 50 or so attendees; it felt as though we were in Sues’ studio. Sue has a natural and conversational style of presentation and she makes you feel like just a bunch of friends hanging out. She was warm, engaging, nonjudgmental, funny, serious, heartwarming, kind, and patient.
My friend Liz had been hesitant about going as she had just returned from a vacation and as we all are concerned about funds, time away, etc. But as I told her,
I changed my life path as a direct result of Sue. I would not pass up the chance to meet her for anything. I want to meet her, chat with her, maybe have a meal with her. I don’t know if any of that will happen, but I know if I don’t go, none of it will.
And it exceeded both of our expectations.
And the life lesson here is… if you don’t step up to the plate, you can never hit that home run!
Thank you Sue Bryce… I hope I get a chance to have a glass of wine with you one day and get to know you a little better.
So wonderful that you get to pursue such a fun career. Jealous!
